General
We started in 2010 with OpenOffice.
Soon after that the LibreOffice fork developed
We adopted it as the development was much more active.
By 2018 the compatability with Microsoft "x" formats was 90% of the way there.
Writer
Very useful and a full range of scriptable command line options as well.
Calc
