Printer Maintenance
Updating Canon Printer Firmware via Web UI
This does not work on the Canon MX922 models, those need to be updated over the printer menu.
- open web UI of Canon printers (get IPs from IT/Overview)
- login (credentials in hosts overview)
- go to "Firmware update" in left menu
- click "Install update"
- wait until the update finishes
- check the new firmware version under "Firmware Update", "Check current version"
- document the new firmware version in the IP and hosts overview
Check Device settings
- go to "Device settings", "Energy saving settings"
- make sure that "Auto power on" is enabled
- make sure that "Auto power off" is set to 15min
