How to Start an MSG
These are the basic steps on starting an MSG Franchise school.
Along the way the local participants may decide that being an MSG school is not what they want.
Starting a school is not an easy task. Much more detail is provided in this document.
- Meet with the newdevelopment person at the MSG

- Get an overall feel if the MSG makes sense in the local context
- Decide to have a second meeting
- Go over in detail the pros and cons of starting an MSG.
- Form a team
- This is usually led by the person we call the champion.
- The champion is:
- A long term person in the country of consideration
- Well connected with people and multiple agencies
- someone with a vested interest in the success of the MSG
- The champion is:
- The team ought to consist of several other who will help in a variety of ways.
- Cheering the champion on
- Helping with communication and practical details
- Aid in the recruiting process
- This is usually led by the person we call the champion.
- Begin looking for
- Staff( They will always be your most valuable and hardest to get asset)
- You will need
- Three teachers
- Math, Science, English
- One administrator
- Can also be a teacher at the beginning
- We do NOT recommend that this person is also running another school or major project.
- One part time IT person
- This is usually handled by Walt DeMoss in Kunming

- You will need about one suitcase for every three students.
- Two large textbooks for math and science
- Several literature books depding on the teacher.
