This page will mainly focus on customizing Chrome to make it work better in the MSG ecosystem

Bookmarks

Bookmarks are not as "drag and droppable" as they are in Firefox.

  • Ctrl + Shift + O opens the bookmarks manager.
  • Use Ctrl + D to bookmark the current site.
  • Ctrl + Shift + D bookmarks all open tabs into a new folder.
  • F6 shifts focus between the Omnibox, bookmarks bar, and website.

Remove the "Add to Reading List" option.

This just makes you take on more step which.

  • Open your Chrome browser and visit “chrome://flags” (remove the quote tags)
  • Or visit chrome://flags/#read-later
  • Click on the Dropdown beside “Reading List” and select “Disabled.”
  • Click the “Relaunch” button that would appear subsequently.

Extensions

Some extensions we use for various things.

  • Tampermonkey
    • Extension that allows you to install "userscripts", which are Javascript files configured to run on different websites. Can be very useful for automating tasks.
  • Plasma integration
    • Allows Chrome to work very nicely with Plasma KDE
